Artist statement about the piece:

Duality is a digital photo collage that explores the tension between two possible realities—one rooted in harmony and regeneration, the other in decline and detachment. The mirrored zebra straddles both realms, symbolizing how the same entity (or society) can exist within two vastly different outcomes depending on perspective and direction. When the image is oriented with greenery below, it feels hopeful, organic, and connected. Flipped, the image turns unsettling: the grounded world becomes inverted, the zebra is unmoored, and the lushness gives way to a barren sky. This instability is intentional. It is a visual metaphor for the fragility of balance and the urgency of our environmental and societal choices.

At its core, Duality asks: What kind of world are we building? And through which lens do we choose to see it?
